Kids Co. is a nonprofit child care organization, rooted in the belief that every child should have access to high-quality education and care. Because we charge less than the cost of care, all of our families receive some amount of financial assistance. Many families receive additional assistance in the form of government subsidies and Kids Co. scholarships. Kids Co. has never turned a family away based on their inability to pay.
Philanthropy comes from the Greek words philein, meaning to love, and anthropos, meaning humankind. So, philanthropy literally means love of humankind or acting in the love of humankind. Kids Co. is deeply rooted in a culture of philanthropy. This value is what drives Kids Co. to ensure all families can access our high-quality child care, to create a supportive and rewarding environment for staff, and to advocate for accessible and affordable child care for all Washington families. We encourage all of our staff to embrace a love of humanity in the work they do at Kids Co. and the ways they serve their communities.
